aegis-story

Story lifecycle - create one story, decompose an epic into many as a gated batch, update losslessly, or break a story into a task runbook. Critical tier - verifies every files_touched claim against the workspace and writes nothing on divergence.

The cross-cutting hub of the corpus. Mode `create` writes one story from a sketch, refusing if the parent epic is still `draft`. Mode `multi` decomposes an epic into N stories as a four-gate batch - point of view, preview, expand, write - where declining at any gate writes nothing. Mode `update` is lossless: frontmatter fields, structured additions to the criteria list, and the sub-task lifecycle, never a prose rewrite. Mode `tasks` breaks one story into a runbook with a definition of done per task, vertical slice by default. Critical reality-check tier throughout - a `files_touched` entry that does not resolve against the workspace stops the write rather than being corrected.
